PSI seeks candidates for the position of Marketing Intern to support the Global Marketing Department (GMD). We are looking for a values-driven professional who is looking to make a positive social impact… someone who believes commercial business and marketing approaches can help address health problems around the world. We are a dynamic team based in Washington, DC and around the world. We are adept at operating in a diffuse, resource constrained environment to apply clear-eyed and modern marketing approaches that generate real improvements in the lives of those we serve.  We add value through building and implementing marketing tools that take our developing country operations to the next level.


The Marketing Intern position requires flexibility and willingness to assume varies duties and projects. This position is based in Washington, D.C. and reports to the Global Marketing Deputy Director. This is a paid position. The ideal candidate will work 3 days per week. This position is open for a 3-month contract with the potential to extend to 6 months based on performance.

Your contribution

The ideal candidate will be a team player with proven critical thinking skills, keen attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong computer skills. It is essential that he/she be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, while working with minimal supervision and following through on assignments. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated interest in marketing and international development issues.


Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct research reviews as requested for key strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with setting up summary reports and reporting system for core global marketing projects. Provide support to assist the global team in tracking and monitoring key activities across regions.
  • Support finalization and documentation of the roll-out of PSI’s revised marketing planning process
  • Support PSI’s marketing department with routine administrative functions, including meeting organization, travel planning and budget management.
  • Other duties to support the team and marketing work as requested.


What are we looking for?


  • Graduate student majoring in marketing and/or public health. Experience in social behavior change, health communication or market development a plus.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and writing skills
  • High proficiency in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.
  • Creativity and strong problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to the team
  • French or Spanish language skills a plus
