PSI is seeking an experienced and dynamic, DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL FUND PROGRAMS to lead overall management and technical efforts supporting its expanded portfolio of Global Fund supported programs. Current and planned future projects include malaria case management support activities through the private sector.


Your contribution

  • Manage and lead PSI’s GF-funded malaria prevention and case management strategy primarily to maximize health impact from Long Lasting Insecticidal Net (LLIN) distribution and case management interventions.
  • Provide technical guidance in development, implementation and management of evidence-based malaria programming that is in line with organizational best practices, national health plans, and platform strategic plans.
  • Ensure that relevant interventions are rigorously compliant, including meeting all reporting requirements and donor deliverables.
  • Oversee quality of internal/external financial reports, and ensure sound & accurate management of related budgets, in close collaboration with the Finance and Operations Departments
  • Oversee the management of Sub-recipients and ensure its compliance to GF and PSI’s standards and requirements
  • Lead and mentor teams of 50+ staff in the execution of relevant project deliverables
  • Facilitate PSI support to local partners demonstrating the value of the PSI network in successfully implementing and expanding malaria programs.
  • Drive innovation across projects by exploring the introduction of new approaches or generation of evidence to improve programs performance and efficiency.
  • Proactively engage and liaise with the NMCP, Donors and other key partners, to improve coordination of malaria prevention and case management at national level.
  • Support PSI to position and further raise funding through Global Fund, DFID, PMI and other potential donors.
  • Work with country coordinating mechanism (CCM) to ensure that programmatic funding and support is continued to reach national and global targets.
  • Act as primary contact of the PSI headquarters Global Fund Management Unit and other support teams with regards to the Global Fund programs.
  • Oversee procurement of commodities, technical specifications, packaging, equipment, and other items in compliance with multiple-donor and organizational regulations.


What are we looking for?


  • Relevant post-graduate degree (MPH, MSc, PhD, etc.);
  • 7+ years’ work experience in a developing country in a senior management capacity;
  • Sound management capacity of project-related planning and budgeting processes;
  • Technical knowledge of malaria epidemiology, treatment and prevention strategies
  • Experience in conducting LLIN distribution through both mass campaign and routine mechanisms.
  • Sound working relation with different Global Fund departments.
  • Understanding and successful negotiation with the Global Funds grant making mechanism
  • Familiarity with the international donor community like GF, DFID, USAID, and private
  • Foundations, such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; French fluency strongly preferred.
