We are looking for dynamic candidates with significant technical experience and expertise in social and behavior change communication (SBCC) for the position of SBC Technical Advisor. The position will focus on innovation, thought leadership and implementation of SBC, and cut across health areas, supporting countries in achieving desired improvements in health and development outcomes, including increasing demand for family planning (FP) and satisfaction with modern contraception; ending preventable child and maternal deaths (EPCMD); achieving and maintaining an AIDS-Free Generation (AFG); and achieving a malaria-free world.
The SBC Technical Advisor should have significant experience with and knowledge of evidence-based SBC theory and strategy; current global best practices in SBC; use of rigorous monitoring and evaluation techniques to create real-time feedback loops; and be consistently looking for ways to innovate and test new approaches to change behavior. Our ideal candidate has experience with consumer and market research, and human centered design. This position will be based in Washington, D.C. with 25% travel.

Strong technical leadership. You believe in the power of behavior change, and have worked on both large and small projects that have used this approach with demonstrated impact. You possess strong technical skills and deep knowledge in SBC that you can and have applied across different health areas. You have solid understanding of quality standards in SBC and can hold your own in a room with other specialists in this area, diplomatically defending unconventional approaches to longstanding problems.
Health Area Experience. You have experience applying SBC to a specific health area and have deeper knowledge in HIV, Family Planning, NCDs, WASH or Malaria.
