    Who we are

    We are Population Services International (PSI), the world’s leading non-profit social marketing organization. We work to make it easier for people in the developing world to lead healthier lives and plan the families they desire by marketing affordable products and services for HIV prevention and treatment, family planning and maternal and child survival.

    There are over 9,000 “PSI’ers” around the world. We’re a diverse group of entrepreneurs and professionals with an unusually wide range of backgrounds - from the medical industry to the music business - all with unique skills we bring to the job.

    Join us!

    PSI wants to reimagine healthcare, to put the consumer at the center, and wherever possible - bring care to the front door. PSI has a large portfolio of products and services across health areas and is exploring opportunities to expand this portfolio - bringing access to a broader range of products to our consumer when and where she needs them.

    This is a unique opportunity for anyone with commercial (consumer or pharmaceutical) experience to apply their product development, marketing fundamentals and project management experience to help drive the greatest impact through PSI’s global basket of healthcare products and services – and shape health markets for the future. From driving global portfolio strategies, to support countries in field to develop string launch plans there is significant scope to apply and refine your skills in new contexts.

    Your contribution

    In collaboration with key teams, you will lead the development of a product portfolio strategy and roadmap for the organization:

    • Support the development of product portfolio strategies (including branding guidance where relevant) for these categories in collaboration with health area and marketing teams and in line with global market shaping approaches;
    • Assess opportunities to expand the basket of products for PSI’s Social Enterprises across adjacent categories and drive the global innovation process;
    • Lead on opportunities to optimize PSI’s existing portfolio of modern contraceptives, safe abortion products and condoms for greater impact and efficiencies;
    • Support country and enterprise teams in bringing products to market and launching with effective marketing plans;
    • Work with supply chain, marketing, regional and enterprise teams to facilitate the route to market for new products – specifically developing an optimized process for product registration.
    • Optimize PSI’s brand audit and trademark registration process.

    What are we looking for?

    The candidate we hire will embody PSI’s corporate values:

    Measurement: You use hard evidence to make decisions and guide your work. You set clear goalposts in advance and explain clearly if you need to move them.
    Pragmatism: You’ll strive to deliver the best possible result with the resources available. You won’t be paralyzed by a need to make things perfect.
    Honesty: You own your mistakes and are open about your shortcomings – it’s the only way you’ll learn and improve.
    Collaboration: You’ll quickly establish a mental map of whom you can rely on for what, on your team, at headquarters, and in our country offices – if you try to do it all yourself, you won’t succeed.
    Trust: You accept limits to your sphere of control and give colleagues the benefit of the doubt
    Commitment:  You are in it for the long-haul and want to grow with the organization, just like PSI serves its consumers and partners with host-country governments through thick and thin.

    The basics
