Location: Washington DC, USA

Who we are
We are Population Services International (PSI), the world’s leading non-profit social marketing organization. We work to make it easier for people in the developing world to lead healthier lives and plan the families they desire by marketing affordable products and services for HIV prevention and treatment, family planning and maternal and child survival.
There are over 9,000 “PSI’ers” around the world. We’re a diverse group of entrepreneurs and professionals with an unusually wide range of backgrounds - from the medical industry to the music business - all with unique skills we bring to the job.
PSI wants to reimagine healthcare, to put the consumer at the center, and wherever possible - bring care to the front door. PSI has a large portfolio of products and services across health areas and is exploring opportunities to expand this portfolio - bringing access to a broader range of products to our consumer when and where she needs them.
This is a unique opportunity for anyone with commercial (consumer or pharmaceutical) experience to apply their product development, marketing fundamentals and project management experience to help drive the greatest impact through PSI’s global basket of healthcare products and services – and shape health markets for the future. From driving global portfolio strategies, to support countries in field to develop string launch plans there is significant scope to apply and refine your skills in new contexts.
In collaboration with key teams, you will lead the development of a product portfolio strategy and roadmap for the organization:
What are we looking for?
The candidate we hire will embody PSI’s corporate values:
Measurement: You use hard evidence to make decisions and guide your work. You set clear goalposts in advance and explain clearly if you need to move them.
Pragmatism: You’ll strive to deliver the best possible result with the resources available. You won’t be paralyzed by a need to make things perfect.
Honesty: You own your mistakes and are open about your shortcomings – it’s the only way you’ll learn and improve.
Collaboration: You’ll quickly establish a mental map of whom you can rely on for what, on your team, at headquarters, and in our country offices – if you try to do it all yourself, you won’t succeed.
Trust: You accept limits to your sphere of control and give colleagues the benefit of the doubt
Commitment: You are in it for the long-haul and want to grow with the organization, just like PSI serves its consumers and partners with host-country governments through thick and thin.
What would get us excited?
The “Street Cred”. You have significant, successful experience in business and/or marketing-related fields. You have a strong sense of what it takes to develop a successful enterprise, but also understand that it takes a certain mindset to balance responsible market growth and reaching under-served consumers with an eye to sustainable business operations.

Team player. You ‘play well’ with others and enjoy seeing the impact of our work as a team.
Details. Details. Details. You pay attention to them and focus on quality and consistency.
Developing Markets. You have experience working or doing business in developing markets where getting things done requires ingenuity, patience, and great problem-solving skills. Experience in East Africa highly preferred.
Curious and Flexible. You’re an information sponge and understand what worked yesterday won’t necessarilywork today (or tomorrow), that each context is different. You have an ability to adapt quickly to these changing environments.
Desire to Make the World a Better Place. You have a passion to create change in the world and believe in providing better health solutions to the poor. You understand that commercial enterprise principles can be effective in increasing health impact in a sustainable way.
