    SIFPO2, Support for International Family Planning Organizations 2: Sustainable Networks, is a global health project funded by USAID. This project is under the branch of the Sexual and Reproductive Health team. The intern position is based in Washington, D.C., and reports to the Program Coordinator. This is a paid position. The ideal candidate will work 40 hours per week. The position is open for a 3-month contract with the potential to extend based on performance.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 
    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Provide dynamic and proactive administrative support to the SIFPO2 team
    • Manage travel approval requests and submissions to USAID
    • Update, edit, and improve an internal knowledge management website by collecting resources, posting information, summarizing reports, designing layout, and general content management;
    • Respond to internal and external requests for information
    • Maintain relevant interdepartmental logs and spreadsheets
    • Process consultant and sub-award invoices
    • Edit and format presentations, project reports and other project documents
    • Organize logistics for meeting, training, and other domestic and international events
    • Attend internal and external meetings, documenting proceedings as required

     

    What are we looking for?

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Strong analytical/problem solving capabilities
    • Interest in international health and development issues
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Doc, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint)
    • Experience with document retention and organizing electronic files
    • At least 2 years' paid work or internship experience (Developing country experience a plus)
    • Excellent organizational and analytic skills, with a high level of attention to detail in all aspects of work responsibilities;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff in D.C. and the field
    • Outstanding oral and written communications skills to effectively communicate findings. (French language a plus)

    References will be required. Must be authorized to work in the United States.  N.B. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship and relocation expenses will not be covered for this position
