PSI anticipates being awarded a multi-year year, $10+ million project to build markets for new screening and preventive treatment technologies in multiple African countries. Targeting women with HIV and those at high risk of HIV infection, this project will strengthen markets for the use of new technologies in cervical cancer prevention.
PSI is seeking an experienced Project Director who will manage and oversee implementation of project activities and coordinate multiple partners. The Project Director should have: significant senior leadership experience, track record in leading large public health programs, including financial management and international development experience; a demonstrated track record in successfully managing government, donor, and sub-grantee relations; a commitment to capacity building; a strong understanding of market development approaches; and experience and expertise in cervical cancer screen and treat programming in low and middle income countries. The successful candidate will have experience in operational research and implementation science, implementing pilots or demonstration projects on cervical cancer prevention among women living with HIV and those at risk for HIV, knowledge of the latest evidence on cervical cancer prevention and screen and treat algorithms, cervical cancer prevention, and donors that fund this work. This position will be based in South Africa, Johannesburg and will require strong coordination with PSI platform program coordinators, teams, and implementing partners in southern and western Africa, and coordination among global technical research teams. This person will report to the director of the HIV/TB department, while working closely with the associate director HIV/TB/ Project Director Unitaid HIV Self-Testing as well as the senior technical advisor from non-communicable diseases (NCDs), in addition to other technical teams.
