    To achieve this vision, we will develop and shape markets for health products and services.  We are looking for a skilled and dynamic markets specialist to help our region develop markets and unlock market failures to increase access to life-saving products and services. We are seeking someone with strong analytical, facilitation and communication skills.  The candidate will have experience analyzing markets, developing interventions to overcome failures, and coaching country-teams with a special focus on the new Keystone process. This position will support the coordination for all key marketing deliverables/requirements across the region and coordinating additional technical assistance as needed.

    Your contribution

    The Regional Marketing Advisor will act as the epicenter for the diffusion and best practice implementation of world-class marketing and market development across the region:

    Regional Market Development Approaches:

    • Promote and facilitate the appropriate and effective use of business processes to utilize consumer and market insights to drive program design leading to more sustainable and equitable health markets;
    • Play a key role in leading the development of strategies to develop and unlock regional/multi-country markets. In particular, provide oversight to new business development proposals to ensure the appropriate integration of market development concepts;
    • Support countries to develop a detailed understanding of the demand and supply markets for health care products and services by collecting and examining market intelligence along the value chain from manufacturers to consumers to understand market failures, their causes and identify efficiency optimization opportunities in the market.
    • Invest in existing and identify new partnership opportunities for PSI with other organizations and institutions working in market landscaping, market analysis, health economics and market development.
    • Work in close collaboration with Program Analytics and other Research departments within the organization to develop tools and approaches to estimate potential market size, demand forecasting as well as demand and supply-side issues across the value chain.


    Marketing Plan Development by Country:

    • Support country-level teams in the development of strategies and annual marketing plans related to both products and services, ensuring alignment to global strategies, donor commitments, and market conditions;
    • Champion a consumer-centric approach to all activities – supporting teams in building empathy with consumers and translating insights into effective solutions;
    • Provide strategic leadership for regional and global marketing initiatives in the region and identify and coordinate with global marketing team to fulfill necessary technical assistance requests/needs;


    Marketing Collaboration & Support:

    • Coordinate with other Global Services departments (and regional resources) including Research, Evidence and health departments to assure appropriate technical support and alignment are embedded in program and proposal development, marketing strategy and execution at the country level;
    • Be an active participant and contributor to the PSI Global Social Marketing team, providing best practice to the standardization and operationalization of improved marketing processes;
    • Collaborate closely with country teams, PSI Social Enterprise Unit, PSI Global Social Marketing team, and procurement in order to support enterprise activities, new product development and related marketing strategies;
    • Support and/or coordinate technical assistance for consumer/provider insight development through use of EIP/HCD;
    • Develop annual framework/work plan for key, regional marketing initiatives/goals; and
    • Work with country/regional teams to improve existing talent and to hire, on-board and groom new marketing talent at the country level.

    The basics

    • A Master’s degree (e.g. MBA, MPA, MPH) or higher in relevant subject area with 5-7 years’ experience in public health, market development or management consulting and/or experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
    • Proven ability and experience in market assessments and analysis, including secondary and primary research.
    • Strong data management, quantitative modeling and analysis skills
    • Demonstrated experience in market development and/or health systems strengthening. Experience designing programs to overcome market failures.
    • Experience leveraging consumer and market insights to inform program design.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving, communication (verbal and written) and facilitation skills;
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including ability to prepare compelling presentations and written reports and work effectively in multi-cultural environments
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills, able to develop strong relationships across functions, abilities and work levels;
    • Demonstrated coaching skills, with an ability to inspire, influence and motivate teams;
    • A self-starter – the ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and set priorities with minimal supervision. Someone who is proactive in looking for new opportunities;
    • Willingness to travel up to 60% of time within the region;
    • Fluency in English required.
