    The intern is responsible for providing support to program management functions in the Global Business Systems (GBS) department. The intern will have administrative and program responsibilities at work with PSI staff at all levels both in Washington and overseas. You will be responsible for providing finance and programmatic administrative support to the staff of the GBS department, ensuring smooth and timely flow of work. The position requires flexibility and willingness to assume varied duties and projects with an emphasis on finance and programmatic administrative tasks, as well as support the communications function of the GBS department.

    Your contribution


    Duties will include but are not limited to:


    Programmatic Administrative Support

    • Support the contracting, invoicing, and search for consultants and temporary staff
    • Supporting the management of knowledge and information, especially on SharePoint
    • Schedule and prepare for meetings and take notes as requested
    • Assist with the organization and coordination of department meetings, workshops, and events
    • Coordinate logistics and procurement of consultant services and payments
    • Assist with travel arrangements of GBS staff including: helping to secure visas for travel, making hotel reservations and airport pick-up for staff

    Financial Administrative Support

    • Assist the GBS department with various financial functions such as running financial queries using the Lawson and LBI systems,
    • Submit and ensure timely processing of consultant invoices
    • Track consultant payments
    • Assist in review of contractual documents and/or budgets

    Communications Support

    • Assist in development of department’s Quarterly Newsletter
    • Conduct, write, and disseminate DHIS2 Impact case studies
    • Provide assistance for maintaining and adding articles in the DHIS2 Knowledge Base
    • Develop power point presentations for workshops and implementation guides
    • Fulfill other programmatic and administrative functions as required


    What are we looking for?

    The basics

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • 0-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite
    • Experience living outside the United States and in multicultural environments preferred.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States. B. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship for this position.
    • References will be required
    • The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.
