    PSI is looking for an accomplished finance professionala to support the Director of Field Finance in two Deputy Director roles in the restructured Field Finance team. You will support the Director of Field Finance and oversee a team of Field Finance professionals to ensure that we have appropriate finance oversight of, and collaborate with our country offices and programs, as well as our regional and centrally funded programs.  Your team will be responsible for performing monthly financial performance reviews of both country finance and program financial monitoring, as well as the preparation of donor reporting.  You will help to bring a holistic approach to financial oversight that incorporates project financial performance, balance sheets, cash flow, audit and technical accounting support.

    Your contribution

    • Provide finance and accounting expertise and leadership to PSI’s overseas operations;
    • Supervise and support filed finance support team in providing oversight, support, guidance, training and monitoring of financial performance and management for PSI’s overseas operations and projects;
    • Oversee the monthly and quarterly reviews of country office financial performance and project financial performance through the consistent application of PSI’s approach to financial monitoring and oversight, and ensure issues are escalated appropriately;
    • Support the Director in the review, redesign and implementation of financial analysis and performance monitoring of PSI’s operations;
    • Actively participate in the recruitment of country/project DAFs, and ensure that your team are actively involved in the onboarding and ongoing support to DAFs;
    • Identify improvement opportunities, and work collaboratively with other members of the Field Finance and Finance teams to ensure that PSI’s process and systems are improved and a consistent approach is rolled out;
    • Support the Director in the development and delivery of finance training to PSI’s field finance and HQ staff;
    • Ensure that your team proactively communicates and monitors the implementation of new/updated Global Accounting policies, procedures and other guidance to ensure compliance with donor and PSI requirements and regulations;
    • Recruit, train, and manage a diverse and talented staff to deliver exceptional service to the organization.
    • Provide support and guidance to member organizations in the implementation of PSI’s Global Internal Audit findings on financial and accounting issues.
    • Ensure the delivery of exceptional service and timely response on all questions related to overseas accounting and financial management and ensure consistently high levels of interaction and teamwork between overseas and domestic finance teams.
    • Assist in identifying process and system efficiencies.
    • Collaborate with field and the Controller group during field audits and audit resolution.
    • Provide ad hoc support on financial reporting for existing businesses, projects, technical accounting and implementation issues as necessary

     

    What are we looking for?

    The basics

    • Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, CPA, CIMA or equivalent experience;
    • At least 10 years professional experience, including working with international operations;
    • Proven experience in staff supervision.
    • Experience with large ERP systems, such as Infor Lawson, as well as knowledge of Quickbooks preferred;
    • Strong financial analysis and excel skills;
    • Strong accounting knowledge, analytical/problem solving skills, creativity and initiative.
    • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment and effectively promote the PSI’s mission, values, and objectives.
    • Ability to identify financial, operational and compliance risks, and to develop appropriate recommendations.
    • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
    • In depth knowledge of accounting principles, finance and funder regulations (especially USG, Global Fund, DFID).
    • Excellent organizational skills and strong customer service focus and analytical skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • French or Spanish language skills desired.
    • Ability to travel internationally up to 25%.
    • References will be required.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States.  N.B. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship and relocation expenses will not be covered for this position.
    • The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.
