    Department:  Family Planning Reproductive Health

    Based in Washington, DC

    Who we are

We’re Population Services International (PSI), the world’s leading non-profit social marketing organization. We work to make it easier for people in the developing world to lead healthier lives and plan the families they desire by marketing affordable products and services that range from mosquito nets to contraceptives to HIV testing.

There are over 9,000 “PSI’ers” around the world. It’s a diverse group of entrepreneurs and professionals with an unusually wide range of backgrounds  - from the medical industry to the music business - all with unique skills we bring to the job.

    Join us!

The Family Planning (FP) and Reproductive Health (RH) Department supports programs in 37 countries (and counting) to deliver high-quality family planning and safe abortion services to women and girls. We protect our clients’ sexual & reproductive health rights by ensuring informed choice, voluntarism, client confidentiality & privacy, client safety and continuity of care.

A flagship program within the FP&RH department is Support for International Family Planning and Health Organizations 2: Sustainable Networks (SIFPO2). This six-year USAID-funded program is designed to strengthen family planning programs and other health services worldwide, with a focus on strengthening private sector channels including social franchise networks.

SIFPO2 received a surge of work for 2019 that means the administrative workload has increased substantially – and the team needs additional support to help manage this challenge!  Some of the work will be interesting and exciting – you get to go to meetings, talk about subjects, learn things, and do things that are very interesting.  A lot of the work will also be routine; taking minutes, organizing meetings, supporting people in tasks such as processing contracts or payments etc. So the Program Coordinator will be an organized clear communicator with a can-do attitude, willing and happy to do this job for 12 months, and with a demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize a variety of tasks on short notice within designated deadlines. S/he has at least 2 years of prior experience working in a fast-paced office environment.

    What are we looking for?

The candidate we hire will embody PSI’s corporate values:

Measurement: You use hard evidence to make decisions and guide your work. You set clear goalposts in advance and explain clearly if you need to move them.

Pragmatism: You’ll strive to deliver the best possible result with the resources available. You won’t be paralyzed by a need to make things perfect.

Honesty: You own your mistakes and are open about your shortcomings – it’s the only way you’ll learn and improve.

Collaboration: You’ll quickly establish a mental map of whom you can rely on for what, on your team, at headquarters, and in our country offices – if you try to do it all yourself, you won’t succeed.

Trust: You accept limits to your sphere of control and give colleagues the benefit of the doubt

Commitment:  You are in it for the long-haul and want to grow with the organization, just like PSI serves its consumers and partners with host-country governments through thick and thin

    What would get us excited?

    • Are you hungry to build a career and get things done? We like a can-do, team-oriented attitude over and above everything else. But of the everything else…
