    PSI seeks a Program Coordinator to support the Latin America and Asia Department. The Coordinator is a key member of department, whose mission is to deliver high-quality, demand-driven services to PSI’s field programs, helping to ensure financial accountability, technical integrity and programmatic success. This position is based in Washington DC and entails occasional overseas travel.

     

    Your contribution

    The Latin America and Asia Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the department’s portfolio of countries, reporting to the team’s Program Manager. Duties will include but are not limited to: 

    • Provide program and financial management support to one or more of LASIA’s country portfolios, including proactive, strategic, and detail-oriented support to the country teams;
    • Ensure smooth financial and programmatic execution of awards, including monitoring of agreement modifications, outstanding commitments, and payments;
    • Assist with new business development opportunities, providing technical input and ensuring adherence to NBD quality standards;
    • Support the elaboration of “donor ready” proposals and reports;
    • Organize, edit, and track programmatic and financial deliverables;
    • Facilitate process flows and adherence to PSI policies, including timely distribution of new policies and procedures to the field;
    • Manage contractors, vendors, and consultants, ensuring accurate set up and timely payments;
    • Support the Financial Analyst as needed with subaward management, donor invoices, or other tasks;
    • Support the organization of meetings and conferences including agendas, venue, catering, transport, and lodging;
    • Fulfill other programmatic, financial, and administrative functions as required.

    The basics:

    • Experience with PSI and PSI systems preferred;
    • At least one year in a backstopping role or prior work experience in a fast-paced office environment;
    • Bachelor's degree preferred in a relevant subject (Public Health, International Development); will consider experience in lieu of degree.
    • You write beautifully, your distinguished narrative style brings us to tears.
    • You feel comfortable speaking up when you have something important to say, and you’re great about proactively reaching out to others to offer your support.
    • Advanced computer skills (MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint),
    • Strong quantitative skills, with emphasis on working with budgets and spreadsheets;
    • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with special attention to detail and timeliness; you are proactive about looking for inefficiencies in processes and coming up with strategies to address them;
    • Proven ability to develop routines to manage large workloads and organize work efficiently;
    • Preference for knowledge of USAID, DFID and the international donor community;
    • Readiness to interact with a variety of people and assume diverse duties and tasks;
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship for this position.
    • The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.
    • References will be required.
