Funded by the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, the Delivering Innovation in Self-Care project (DISC), supports PSI’s vision to reimagine healthcare by increasing awareness, availability, and access to contraceptive self-care methods like self-injection that give women greater power and control over their sexual and reproductive health. In partnership with Ministries of Health, healthcare provider networks, and other key stakeholders, DISC is integrating self-care methods into health systems, bringing care closer to consumers, and amplifying their voice, choice, and agency. The DISC project is about to enter an exciting new phase which will involve scaling the DISC high impact practices through partnerships in existing countries as well as expanding into new countries.

Sexual and reproductive health (SRH) self-care – a ecosystem of health behaviors and products that allow people to self-identify, -treat, and -manage their own health conditions and needs – has been increasingly recognized as a key strategy for expanding access to primary health care and improving people’s SRH wellbeing. PSI supports a wide array of SRH and rights programs globally, including programs that aim to develop and test innovative delivery models and other interventions to improve access to SRH self-care. Among these programs is the Delivering Innovation in Self-Care (DISC) program. Driven by deep consumer insights, DISC aims to support women to become active participants in their health systems through the expansion of awareness of and access to sexual and reproductive health self-care products and behaviors such as self-injectable contraception. DISC currently works with a consortium of implementing partners in Uganda, Nigeria, and Malawi, with plans for expansion to additional countries. In addition to implementing multi-faceted interventions to support the enabling environment, self-efficacy, and service readiness for SRH self-care, the DISC program includes a robust monitoring, evaluation, and research agenda. DISC’s evidence and learning agenda aims to strengthen the evidence base for effective, high-quality delivery of SRH self-care by generating consumer insights, evaluating novel self-care delivery models, and identifying best practices for scaled implementation of self-care programs and policies.
PSI seeks an Advisor II, Research to support sexual and reproductive health research across PSI’s broader SRH department, with a specific focus on conducting self-care research through the DISC program. The Advisor II, Research is a key position within PSI’s SRH research team, working collaboratively with other SRH research and monitoring and evaluation staff to design and implement a variety of research activities, including consumer insights gathering, evaluative research, and implementation science using qualitative and quantitative methods. The Advisor II, Research will be responsible for ensuring technical quality and ethical compliance across a portfolio of studies in multiple countries and across multiple projects within the SRH Department; will serve as a research focal point; and will support teams in the use and dissemination of research findings.

The COP will have the overall responsibility for coordination and management of all Activity interventions and personnel. As the leader of a single-country project, liaise with national stakeholders, such as Ministry of Health officials and be the primary point of contact for the project donor and assure strategic alignment of the project with PSI Global Strategy. They will represent the Activity with USAID, relevant government officials, local organizations, implementing partners, and other stakeholders to cultivate collaborative relationships in support of the Activity’s success.
They will manage senior staff, sub-awardees, and oversee the project team to ensure that the country level implementation is provided with a high standard of excellence and efficiency, achieving set goals and targets within budget. Provide high level technical thought leadership and have the managerial capacity to strategically manage risk, monitor finances, and ensure each phase of work is started or completed on time. Responsible for using evidence to improve project design and implementation. They will oversee and supervise the design, implementation, and monitoring of the Activity, providing strategic technical vision, and leading successful, ethical project implementation and high-quality interventions throughout the project lifecycle from start-up to close-out. The COP will be accountable for delivery of all aspects of the project, including sound and timely technical implementation, and financial and administrative compliance.

The Strategy & Insights team guides quality, insights-driven prioritization and learning across PSI, ensuring we are “doing the right things” even as we work on “doing things right.” The team promotes best practice in program design, social and behavior change (SBC), market dynamics, research, learning, and strategy development, measurement and alignment. PSI's involvement in Cameroon dates to 1996; with the vision of grounding local social marketing interventions while benefiting from global best practices, PSI established Association Camerounaise pour le Marketing Social (ACMS). Until October 31, 2023, PSI and ACMS were consolidated entities jointly implementing projects in health areas such as sexual and reproductive health, HIV and Hepatitis C prevention, malaria control, and epidemic response. PSI, registered as a branch office in Cameroon since 2012, renewed its incorporation in August 2023 and will continue to implement consumer-centered healthcare initiatives, either independently or in collaboration with ACMS. PSI is looking for a Chief of Party (COP) who will support the implementation of the Access to Reproductive Health Services Program PASSR, which is funded by KfW. The Program aims to reduce maternal mortality, aiming to increase the use of better-quality services for reproductive health to improve the contraceptive prevalence rate.
The Chief of Party (COP) will lead the PASSR project implementation in close collaboration with implementing partners including Agence Camerounaise pour le Marketing Social (ACMS). The role will be accountable for delivery of all aspects of the program, including technical implementation, financial and administrative compliance, oversight, and supervision of project staff. Additionally, the COP will oversee ACMS PASSR program’s team to ensure that implementation is provided with a high standard of excellence, achieving its set goals and targets and within budget. The COP will provide high level technical thought leadership and has the managerial capacity to strategically manage risk, monitor finances, and ensure each phase of work is started or completed on time. The COP will also be responsible for using evidence to improve project design and implementation. As the leader of a Cameroon project, the COP will liaise with national stakeholders, such as Ministry of Health officials. The role will be a primary point of contact for the project donor and assures the strategic alignment of the project with PSI Global Strategy.
Salary Range:

PSI/Madagascar has been working to strengthen the health system in Madagascar for over 20 years, and has been selected as Principal Recipient for the integrated HIV/TB grant (2024-2026) from the Global Fund against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to provide technical support to the Government of Madagascar and a wide variety of community partners.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Research and M&E Manager to lead the country’s research and M&E portfolio for strengthened data collection, management, quality assurance, and market insights, and research use in Nigeria. The Senior Research and M&E Manager will have a main focus on ACTwatch Lite, a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded research project that will collect market data on antimalarial and diagnostic commodities in Nigeria. Training and data collection are expected to begin in early 2024.
