PSI’s External Communications (EC) department positions PSI as a development NGO of the future and thought leader working towards Universal Healthcare for all. We nurture strategic relationships with donors and partners, support global services and in-country teams with external relations and provide strategic advocacy support. We work hard and laugh a lot together.   We are looking for a Senior Communications and Fundraising Consultant to:   - Conduct qualitative, internal in-depth interviews with - PSI’s CEO, CDO - Outgoing EC Director - EC Senior Managers (and full team panel or several panels with junior members who are integral to execution) - Vice Presidents of Strategy & Insights, Social Enterprise, Africa, Latin America & Asia, OpEx, Malaria, Sexual and Reproductive Health - Key communications collaborators such as but not limited to security, strategy, and insight exchange. - Conduct benchmarking/organizational analysis and where possible, qualitative in-depth interviews with external, organizations (of comparable focus/size—INGO or private sector) regarding their communication functions (internal, external, crisis, advocacy) experience and strength in class. - What is the market opportunity and need for us to accomplish our goals? - Influence and Positioning - Best practice by others - Is there something missing that no one is doing? - What “best” practices are less effective—in which we should not invest. - Provide technical opinion/recommendations based on insights inclusive of, but not limited to: - - Advocacy - Strategic communications - Design - Crisis communications - Internal communications - Public relations - Technical writing and publishing capacity  - Project management for communications Sound like you? PMI Impact Malaria is a USAID contract hosted and led by PSI as the prime contractor.   PMI Impact Malaria works with national malaria control programs to help tackle challenges by: - Closing the gaps in malaria service delivery to get the right medicine, with the correct diagnosis, to patients in need, in the timeliest manner. - Unlocking the potential of key drug-based approaches, by helping countries to introduce, implement, and scale-up proven innovations to move countries forward in their elimination efforts, according to each country’s unique malaria situation. - Strengthening malaria health systems and the use of data for decision-making to link operational research and country-led dialogue with global technical leadership for the means of accelerating service delivery improvements and advancing key learnings.  The PMI Impact Malaria team is a results-focused, multi-disciplined and multi-cultured team, based out of Washington DC, working through PSI country offices as well as through our partners Jhpiego, MCDI and UCSF, in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.   PSI is seeking an experienced, dynamic and innovation-driven Strategic Communications Manager to support PMI Impact Malaria’s efforts share of learning both internally and externally, to tell its story more broadly, and celebrate the success of investments in PMI Impact Malaria.

This position is a key part of the Evidence and Learning team in the DISC project– a $18-million five-year self-care project made possible with the generous support of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF).   Reporting to EC’s Senior Manager for Advocacy and to DISC’s Project Director, you will collaborate to refine and execute DISC’s content strategy, which includes earned and owned media, digital and traditional outreach, as well as media relations.    The DISC project is working with consumers, healthcare providers, governments and health systems in Nigeria and Uganda to catalyze voluntary self-injection of DMPA-SC contraceptives and promote additional forms of self-care. The investment aims to better understand the conditions under which consumers and providers will demand self-care interventions, and the feasibility of delivering high quality, cost-effective self-care services at scale. As a flagship project of PSI, DISC is part of PSI’s organizational pursuit of universal health coverage through innovative and sustainable solutions that meet the actual health needs of people in low and middle-income countries. We believe all people can and should have control of their sexuality, sexual health, and fertility and that this is best achieved when people have greater voice, choice and agency over the processes and services that most affect them. Our mission is clear: every woman and girl – and every man and boy – should have access to the products, information and services they need to plan for the families, and lives, they desire. You will support proposal development and proposal writing, and lead proposal development for smaller proposals, follow-ons, and concept notes. You will also lead departmental projects and areas for process improvement.

Senior Manager, Foundations (Business Development) Based in: Washington, D.C. Join us!   PSI’s Global Fundraising Department helps direct PSI’s activities in developing new business worldwide with foundations, bilateral and multilateral donors.  PSI’s NBD Department offers assistance to field-based programs when responding to the US government, DFID, KFW, Global Fund, corporate, foundation, and other donor requests for proposals.  The Department has annual fundraising goals typically in excess of $500 million. NBD also provides additional fundraising support to PSI country platforms facing funding shortfalls and increasingly will support fundraising for new health areas. The department also builds the capacity of PSI’s country platforms to prepare proposals.   PSI seeks applicants for the position of Senior Manager, Foundations (Business Development) to develop a strategic fundraising plan, identify, cultivate and build relationships with key foundations and execute proposal development to secure significant support from and strengthen partnerships with these private foundations for PSI's programs. This role will play a vital role in PSI's continued philanthropic growth by identifying, cultivating, stewarding, and expanding fruitful, long-term relationships with foundations in the United States and internationally.
